A Secret Visit Gone Wrong: The Emotional Story of My Wife’s Tears

When I woke up, I spent some time scrolling through social media on my phone. Then I washed up and had breakfast. For breakfast, I had paratha, pickle, and tea. After breakfast, my father opened up the motorcycle and started fixing it. He asked me to bring some parts. It took me about ten minutes to reach the motorcycle spare parts shop. From there, I bought an air filter, a spark plug, a pipe that comes out of the carburetor and drains to the ground, a shifter seal, engine oil, and silicone. The total bill came to 1040.

When I returned home and gave him the items, my father installed only one part for the time being and said, “Ride it for now. If the engine oil doesn’t leak, then I’ll add the new engine oil.”

For lunch, my mother cooked a meat curry, which we ate with besan (gram flour) roti. After that, my wife looked at photos of her cousins and their brides on her phone, as it was their walima (wedding reception) today.

At around 3 PM, we had tea with rusks. Then I downloaded a movie. The story is about a Hindu man who discovers after many years that he is actually a Muslim. Meanwhile, his children are also at the stage of getting married. The film revolves around Hindu and Muslim themes.

I took a short nap. When I woke up, my wife was crying. The reason was that her family had forbidden her from visiting her friend’s house because they did not have a good opinion of that friend. My wife had agreed not to go, but during Eid, we both had visited her friend’s house. Her family eventually found out. Now her brother is upset with her.

She was crying and, in anger, even deleted her family group. The situation came to light when we returned from her friend’s house and my wife had a gift given by her friend, which her sister noticed. Her youngest sister also read her chats with that friend on her phone. Her sisters informed their brother, and he became angry.
